A Look Back at Aberdeen Restaurant Week 2024

As Aberdeen Restaurant Week is drawing to a close, we have a look back at the success of #ARW24

Aberdeen Restaurant Week was back again this year with over 80 eateries and restaurants ready to take your order. With a variety of cuisines, price ranges, and menus available, this year there was something for everyone.

ARW is an important occasion for the Silver City. It allows the people of Aberdeen to sample the diverse range of cuisines available, branch out from the usual hangouts, and increases footfall for the entire city.

With such a range of places available, from tasting menus at 210 Bistro to a £15 lunch menu at the Jewel in the Crown, we reached out to some of the punters of ARW to get their opinions on the places they tried….

‘Da Vinci’s is one of my favourite places to eat in Aberdeen so of course I had to come for ARW. Amazing food as always, good service, and a great place to eat as a vegan, with lots of options including a delicious dessert!’

‘Not only was our 3 course meal at The Atrium delicious, it was a great price. 3 courses and a soft drink all for £20! As we entered The Atrium the atmosphere was busy but not too loud, with lots of happy people enjoying good quality food. We were taken to our table where our restaurant week menu’s were waiting and our lovely waiter took our drinks order almost immediately. Shortly after and once we were ready, we ordered our starters and mains. We ordered a Traditional Cullen Skink and Korean Cauliflower. The Korean Cauliflower was particularly delicious, the sauce was amazing, and the cauliflower cooked perfectly and that is coming from someone who does not like cauliflower very much !

For our mains we ordered the Fish & Chips and The Atrium (burger). The burger was full, however not too heavy, or excessive and the fish was cooked perfectly, the chips were also some of the best thin chips I’ve had! We then gave time for our food to settle before ordering dessert, we ordered a S’Mores Cookie Dough and a Chocolate & Orange Crème Brule. The desserts were AMAZING, and topped off the 3 course meal perfectly. They were perfectly sized, not too much but not too little that left you wanting more. The S’Mores cookie dough was also not overindulgent or heavy despite the name sounding it.

The staff were also a stand out bunch, who were very kind and welcoming despite what looked like one of their busiest nights and weeks due to Restaurant Week! I also loved the Scottish Produce Map they had on the wall, a lovely local touch. I would definitely go again, and was delighted to be given a 10% off for our next time at the end of our visit. Thank you Atrium!’

‘ARW is always a highlight, and good excuse to go out for dinner and try new places. It has become a tradition between my mother and I to try somewhere new every time! A couple of my friends are vegan and so finding somewhere that suited all of us was a little tricky, but Davinci’s has a gorgeous vegan menu. I loved the variety in places taking part this year and look forward to when it’s coming back.’

‘My boyfriend and I went to Smoke and Soul located in Six⁰North for the “3 for £15” menu. We enjoy going to Six⁰North anyway so were intrigued to try the food! The food was delicious and some good portion sizes! We shared the 3 mini dishes and were pleasantly full. We will definitely be back.’

‘Gidi Grill was AMAZING. We had the 3 tapas for £20 and shared 6 dishes between us. Perfectly seasoned, spicy but not blow your head off, and absolutely scrummy. We also tried the cocktail of the week which was a cherry fizz and very moreish… we will certainly be back!’

Convinced by the testimonials? There is still plenty of time to try somewhere for yourself! Aberdeen Restaurant Week is available until the end of this weekend and will be back later this year.

Where are you going to try?
